Backaround Information <br />Olivet University is a private Christian institution in the Presbyterian tradition <br />principally authorized in California by the Bureau of Private Postsecondary Education. <br />Olivet has applied to the Board of Regents for permission to operate in New York State. <br />In November, 2012, the Board of Regents, pursuant to §3.56 of the Regents <br />Rules, granted Olivet University (California) permission to operate in New York State <br />and to offer seven courses from its M.B.A program at Six Barclay Street in New York <br />City, for a period of three years. There have been no reported issues or complaints <br />regarding these offerings over the past three years. <br />Olivet University seeks permission to continue to offer the seven courses from its <br />M.B.A program at its New York City location. In addition, Olivet University seeks <br />permission to offer seven courses from its M.Div. program at its location in New York <br />City, and separately, at a location in Dover, NY. <br />Consistent with its master planning process, the Department conducted a <br />canvass of all degree -granting institutions in the New York City and Hudson Valley <br />regions. The Department received no objections. <br />Recommendation <br />VOTED: That the Board of Regents grant permission to Olivet University <br />(California) to offer the proposed seven courses from its M.B.A program and the <br />proposed seven courses from its M.Div. program at Six Barclay Street in New York City. <br />In addition, the Board of Regents grant permission to Olivet University (California) to <br />offer the proposed seven courses from its M.Div. program at its location in Dover, NY. <br />This approval will be effective for a five-year period beginning on October 27, 2015 and <br />ending on October 26, 2020. <br />E <br />
