In that <br />application, Iroquois seeks authority to construct and operate its Enhancement by <br />Compression ("ExC") Project ("ExC Project" or "Project"). In accordance with the <br />Commission's regulations, Iroquois is hereby providing you, as a landowner, municipality, <br />agency or individual who may be affected by the Project, with some additional information <br />regarding the ExC Project. <br />General Project Description: <br />Iroquois is proposing to construct, own, operate, and maintain certain new natural gas <br />compression and cooling facilities to be located at the sites of four existing Iroquois <br />compressor stations, in Athens, New York; Dover, New York; Brookfield, Connecticut; <br />and Milford, Connecticut (cooling only). There is no new pipeline proposed as part of this <br />Project. A map is provided showing the locations of the Project. <br />The ExC Project has been developed to provide a total of 125,000 Dekatherms per day of <br />incremental firm transportation service to two existing local gas utility customers of Iroquois. <br />The ExC Project is designed to facilitate a rational and orderly transition to a renewable <br />energy future, complementing and supporting the region's policy choices while at the same <br />time addressing the need for incremental natural gas transportation capacity into the region. <br />In order for Iroquois to meet the ExC Project's proposed in-service date of November 1, <br />2023, Iroquois must commence construction of the Project facilities by early Spring 2023. <br />Docket Number: <br />As denoted above, the ExC Project has been assigned a docket number by the Commission: <br />Docket No. CP20-48-000. This docket number should be used in any communication with <br />either Iroquois or the Commission with respect to the ExC Project. Attached please find a <br />copy of the Commission's notice of the filing of Iroquois' application (Notice). Please note <br />that requests to intervene in the proceeding are due to be filed at FERC on March 4, 2020. <br />Instructions on filing at FERC are included in the Notice. <br />
